There used to be a county open art exhibition. I got two in, probably around 2014. Can you spot which two are mine? The exhibition was held in Shildon Railway museum.

I said I had a road phase, snapping photos when sat in the passenger seat. What I really like is bright colours, and green. Looking at all these old paintings I am wondering why it took so long to learn values….
Husky pet portrait
This was from around 2014. A bit better than the older ones but still loads of room for improvement.
Horsley Hall
I have painted Horsley Hall before. This ones in watercolour, with some white gouache to touch up the snow. I really hope this is just a blurry photo…
Orchids
Painted this one ages ago. Even sold it to the lady up the road. I painted it from life, but the plant only had one spray of flowers, so I kept turning it around. Cubism for beginners!
Norwegian wood
A friend of my mums is Norwegian, and lives in Canada. This is her old family home in Norway, that she often goes back to visit.
Pet commission
The more eagle eyed among you might notice that my dogs have snuck into a pet portrait commission. You may also notice a fourth animal. This was done as the client is a family friend and and our dogs often played together. They also really liked my masters show pieces based on Africa and camouflage, […]
Old barn

It’s from a farm in a local village whose goats tried to eat all our pack lunches and the chickens were pecking our paint. Outdoor painting hazards!
Snow
I can’t remember what year I painted this but it was before 2012 and from the quality of the photo, before 2011. I had a road and moors faze. This was painted in oils on canvas and was bought as a present for a family member living in London.
Old work
I always encourage my students to keep their old work, as the comparison can give quite a confidence boost. This work is seven years old, and it is good to compare to now. These are the farriers two pets. They kept the cat in so I could take her photo. I feel that although my […]
