I always encourage my students to keep their old work, as the comparison can give quite a confidence boost. This work is seven years old, and it is good to compare to now. These are the farriers two pets. They kept the cat in so I could take her photo. I feel that although my anatomy is the weakest point of the drawing, I’ve captured a ‘peed off puddy’. I’ve also learned colour mixing, tonal values and how to take a non blurry photo. In decent light.
In other news, considering this time last year I thought I’d have a lot less gainful employment, I’ve hit peak business and have only picked up a paintbrush to help a student mix her colours, joined a running club, started teaching Pilates sessions and started German lessons. Stay tuned for more of my old work!
