I painted a suitably chilly landscape for my Christmas card this year. I was planning it to be posted on Christmas Day to say happy Christmas and thank you for all your inktober support, but it just didn’t happen this year. Room for improvement in 2018!
Fun fact: I had to ask a friend if it was finished as I couldn’t tell the difference between a double vodka and the head cold. I wish I hadn’t been as sick then I would have liked to have worked more of a pattern into the foreground – what drew me to the original photo. However I think I am getting the hang of the tonal values, even if everything turned out a bit purple. Painting with the lights on helps! I have left a post it note ton remind myself!
