Improvement

When searching for photos of a more resent work, I came across these two commissions from 2011. They did make me cringe, but they were the best I could do at the time, and were a stepping stone to the best I can do now.

Holly. She was so scared of the dark her dad had to carry through areas of no street lights,

Trixy. She used to stand at the gate with her empty bowl, being her thin lurched self and passerby’s would say in horrified tones ‘don’t they feed that dog?’

A big lesson I learned from this one was having a good reference photo. I had to go visit as on the original photo I couldn’t see Holly’s eyes. My only frame of reference was Aya, who had almond eyes.

I’m happy to say that my photography has improved somewhat too!
